Your journey begins with the robin: bright-eyed, chest puffed out, and unmistakably British. As our national favourite, the robin makes the perfect introduction to the collection. For a limited time, we’re offering the Robin Bin badge completely free, simply cover £1.99 postage fee and it’ll fly straight to your door, ready to perch on your coat, card, or collector’s board.

But there’s so much more to discover beyond the garden fence. From the goldcrest– Britain’s tiniest bird, weighing less than a 20p coin- to the osprey, which can spot a fish from 100 feet in the air before diving with talons extended, this collection spans the full character and colour of our birdlife.

The jay, often hidden in woodland, is a nervous hoarder that helps grow our oak forests by forgetting where it buried its acorns. Meanwhile, the kestrel hovers in mid-air with astonishing stillness, using ultraviolet vision to track mice through the undergrowth.

Some birds are known by sound before sight. The wren, round and restless, delivers one of the loudest songs in the undergrowth. Others live more unusual lives- like the dipper, a songbird that actually walks underwater in fast-flowing rivers to hunt for insects.

The VE Day Masterpiece Poppy® 5oz Silver Proof Coin: A Lasting Tribute to Remembrance

November 11th, 1945.
For the first time since the guns fell silent, the people of Britain gathered in unity – not in war, but in remembrance.

At the Cenotaph in London, His Majesty King George VI stood with head bowed, a wreath of poppies in hand. Beside him, a young Princess Elizabeth, dressed proudly in her Auxiliary Territorial Service uniform, laid her own tribute. Together, father and daughter embodied a nation’s grief and gratitude, a moment of quiet dignity shared by millions.

Winston Churchill, the man who had led Britain through its darkest days, stood solemnly nearby. Clergy, soldiers, and citizens alike filled the streets in silence. The weight of loss, the relief of peace, and the hope of a new beginning hanging in the air.

The scene at the Cenotaph, in London on Nov. 11, 1945.

That first Remembrance Service after victory wasn’t merely a ceremony, it was a defining moment in the story of Britain.
And now, 80 years on, that moment has been captured forever in pure silver.

A Masterpiece Born from Remembrance

Introducing the VE Day Masterpiece Poppy® 5oz Silver Proof Coin – a numismatic work of art that unites craftsmanship, history, and emotion.

Each year a Masterpiece Poppy Coin is released in partnership with the Royal British Legion. This year’s release is the perfect tribute to the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War.

Each coin is struck from five ounces of the finest Pure Silver, finished to the highest Proof standard, and brought to life with ultra-high relief precision. Every fold, every feature, every line of that historic scene is sculpted in exquisite detail.

The artistry doesn’t stop there. The selective application of vivid red – the colour of remembrance, brings the poppy to life in a way that feels almost three-dimensional. Against the mirrored silver finish, it burns with quiet power, a symbol of sacrifice that will never fade.

Each coin is struck multiple times using a meticulous process reserved for the most premium issues, ensuring razor-sharp definition and a truly museum-quality finish.

Secure Your Place in History

Eighty years after that moment of national reflection, the VE Day Masterpiece Poppy® 5oz Silver Proof Coin stands as a beacon of remembrance and gratitude.

Its beauty lies not only in its craftsmanship, but in what it represents – courage, unity, and peace hard-won.

With demand expected to exceed availability, only a few privileged collectors will be able to own this enduring symbol of remembrance.

Because some moments in history deserve to be remembered – in silver, in colour, and forever.

Britain’s Biggest Roman Coin Hoard? 🪙

Discovery of up to 15,000 Ancient Coins in North Wales

A metal detectorist from Cheshire has made what could be one of the LARGEST discoveries in Welsh history – up to 15,000 Roman coins buried in two pots deep in the North Wales countryside.

David Moss, an experienced detectorist, made the astonishing find with his friend Ian Nicholson while exploring a remote area described as “virtually untouched.” When he realised what they had uncovered, Moss said he felt a rush of excitement and disbelief.

The pair spent over six hours carefully excavating the site, unearthing layer after layer of ancient coins. Fearing the hoard might be disturbed or stolen, Moss went to extraordinary lengths to protect it – sleeping in his car for three nights before safely transporting it to National Museum Cardiff, where experts are now examining and cataloguing the discovery.

A Glimpse into Ancient Britain

This remarkable find offers a new window into the lives of people living at the edge of the Roman Empire nearly two thousand years ago.

Archaeologists believe such hoards were often buried during periods of unrest – sometimes hidden to keep valuables safe during invasions, and other times offered to the gods in times of crisis. The fact that the coins were found sealed in pots suggests they were deliberately placed there for safekeeping.

As archaeologists begin their detailed study, Moss’s find is already being hailed as one of the most exciting insights into Roman-era Wales in recent memory.

From Ancient Fields to Your Collection

For anyone fascinated by discoveries like this – or who dreams of uncovering a piece of Rome’s past for themselves – there’s no better way to experience that connection than by adding genuine Roman coins to your collection. While the North Wales hoard will remain in the hands of historians, you can still own coins struck by the same civilisation that left treasures like it buried across Britain – waiting to be discovered for centuries to come.

This is The Roman Legions Coin Set, this set features two authentic bronze coins, each struck nearly two thousand years ago at the height of the Roman Empire.

  • One shows a Roman camp gate, symbolising the strength and discipline of the Roman army.
  • The other depicts two legionnaires carrying standards, representing Rome’s unity and power.
